OUR MISSION
EVERY Child Will Be Heard
Voices for Children of Okeechobee & the Treasure Coast supports the over 1,000 abused, neglected and abandoned children throughout our area.
Our GOAL
Every child represented by a Guardian ad Litem
GAL volunteers are dedicated to serving and advocating for every child they are assigned.
Each is very passionate about meeting the needs of our regions’s most vulnerable children.
- Currently 800 children are represented by 330 GALs
- Our goal is 100% representation and advocacy for ALL of the abused and abandoned children in the Treasure Coast area.
- MORE volunteers are essential to ensure that ALL our region’s children are given a “voice.”
Voices for Children of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast is a 501 nonprofit organization, founded in 2013 to raise funds in support of the efforts and activities of the Florida state-funded Guardian ad Litem Program of Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit Court. We build relationships with the business community as well as private, public, civic, and faith-based groups to identify and develop additional resources and support. Our goal is 100% representation of abused, neglected, and abandoned children under our court’s jurisdiction.
Become a GAL Pal
When a Guardian ad Litem, also known as a GAL, makes a request on behalf of a child (whether for a bed, bicycle, or any other number of everyday needs) we rise to meet the need. This would not be possible without the GENEROSITY of donors, what we like to call “GAL Pal’s.” A GAL Pal can donate as little as $5.00 monthly to help make this possible!
